Community Outreach

The goal of the Community Outreach Program is to foster our students’ awareness of the community’s needs and the positive impact their actions can have on their community and on themselves.

The Roy H. Crosby student council, guided by a teacher representative, will identify charitable organizations, programs and/or needs within the various communities (ie. locally, nationally, and internationally).  Approximately each month, they will choose a character trait from the list of traits outlined by the York Region District School Board’s Character Matters program.  The school will focus on this trait and pair it with a specific charitable organization or program to be the recipient of that month’s Outreach.

The School Council Community Outreach Committee, headed by a liaison, will act in support of the Student Council’s initiatives as needed.  This may include advice, suggestions, administration, etc.
