Homework is assigned to students when some classwork has not been completed
or as practice to help consolidate the lesson. Student homework should be
completed faithfully and the material returned to class the next school day.
Each classroom teacher has indicated their policy related to incomplete
homework or assignments handed in late. Parents are encouraged to keep the
lines of communication open with their student's teacher so homework
activities do not become a source of uncomfortableness for anyone.
Homework should never interfere with a students need for social or athletic
activities outside of school. In an effort to help our students to be
organized for classes, agenda planners are offered for purchase and are a
great way for students to list various activities in their lives. These
agendas should be used to indicate sporting events, social gatherings and
work schedules so students can then use their time wisely. This helps them
to determine how much time they may spend away from their studies and how
much time they will require to fulfill their academic responsibilities.
Most adults employ some form of "planner" whether "hard copy" or electronic
to help them navigate through their busy lives. Using school planners can
help our students to realize the value of this life long habit.
