I have been a principal with the Huron Perth Board for about 7 years. I was
previously a grade 7 & 8 teacher at Sacred Heart School in Wigham, for about
16 year. I truly enjoyed my time as a teacher and still like to help out in
classrooms when I get a chance.
In my career as principal, I was fortunate enough to begin at St. Joseph's
School in Kingsbridge. I was there for about 5 years, with the last year
being a "twinned" assignment with Sacred Heart in Wingham. I then moved to
the Wingham school and enjoyed one year there. In the spring of 2007, I was
asked to move to St. Joseph's School in Clinton, where I am beginning my
third year as principal.
I have two sons, a very excitable puggle dog named Mya and a baby
grand daughter, who recently celebrated her first birthday. All keep me very
busy !
I enjoy most sports and play slow pitch in the summer and hockey in the
winter with a great group of ladies from Ashfield Township. My golf game
realy needs a lot of work and so I get regular lessons from my eldest son
who is a golf professional.
My younger son is a welding technician who programs robotic welders. I am
very proud of both of my children and thankful that they are former students
in the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board.
I enjoy reading and also television shows, especially comedies. I have
travelled a bit in the last few years and hope to do more in the near
future. I hope you will find my webpage to be helpful and informative for
you. Thanks for stopping by ! Ms. Barrett
Our mission at St. Joseph's school is to become the best citizens we can be.
This means allowing our faith to guide our words, actions and deeds. In so
doing, we succeed academically as well as spiritually. This year our faith
journey is lead through awareness of What Would Jesus Do? As we work in a
caring, catholic community, we follow the examples of the Beatitudes,
ensuring that we "be-the-attitude" in all areas of our life. Jesus always
put his Father's wishes and the good of others ahead of Himself, and this is
the model of faith we work towards.
