Homework: "Always do your best!"

In the First Grade, students can expect to receive 10 minutes of nightly
homework. The aforementionned 10 minutes is in addition to the mandatory 10
minutes of nightly reading. Should your child be spending longer than 10
minutes on the assignment, please let me know immediately.
At times throughout the year, I will assign "at-home family projects" (ex.-a
week or two prior to our Thanksgiving holiday, a blank turkey cut-out will
be sent home for you and your child to decorate with whatever materials you
wish in an attempt to disguise the bird from becoming dinner)that will
require more time and thus, you will be afforded an amount of time that is
manageable.

HOMEWORK FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 23RD TO JUNE 25TH:

1. Read each day for at least 10 minutes with an adult. After you have
finished reading the book, discuss its content with your adult reading
buddy. Then, record your reading on the reading log.

DURING THE SUMMER, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO READ DAILY WITH YOUR CHILD,
ENGAGE IN DAILY "BOOK CHATS" UPON READING, WRITING AND ILLUSTRATING STORIES,
AND WRITING AND DRAWING DAILY IN A "SUMMER JOURNAL" BOOK.
