Critter Creations' Monthly Home Learning Project

JANUARY'S HOME LEARNING PROJECT: "TIME FLIES WHEN I AM HAVING
FUN!"

You and your child are invited to work together to complete this
month's voluntary home learning enrichment project-"Time Flies When
I am Having Fun!" project. You and your child will work
together to create an eco-friendly, instructional theme-inspired
2010 Time Capsule. First, you and your child will find and clean
one empty sealable container. Then, you and your child will
decorate the outside of the empty, clean container using various
artistic and craft materials (the choices are endless.....stickers,
fabric, felt, glitter, construction paper, paint, etc.). The
outside of the decorated capsule must include the following words:
"__________'s Time Capsule-2010"
Finally, you and your child will carefully decide upon and select 10
meaningful items to palce inside his/her time capsule. Remeber, the
items that you and your child chose should have sentimental value
and be meaningful. When the time capsule is opened after a certain
amount of time has passed (1 year later), each item should be fondly
remembered. Some suggestions for items to include inside of the
time capsule: photos, artwork, small toys, money, pieces of
clothing, letters, food labels, candy wrappers, etc.)
Once the items are placed inside of the capsule, secure the lid;
making certain that it is on tightly. Remember that you and your
child, once the time cpasule is returned home from school, will bury
somewhere inside or outside of your house. It will remain in its
buried location, UNTOUCHED, for the entire year. NO PEEKING! Thus,
choose a place of least temptation.
When your child brings his/her time capsule to school, please
include an accompanying printed (by your child the "school way")
list of the 10 items. Also, please make certain that your child can
tell the reason of significance for each item's inclusion in the
capsule.
