FOR BEING SELECTED AS MISS CROCKERS' STAR STUDENTS FOR THE WEEK OF: JANUARY 4TH TO JANUARY 8TH, 2010

Elise is being recognized for:

*demonstrating remarkable growth, maturity, and confidence as a Junior Kindergartener

*always being a tremendous help to Miss Crocker and Miss Crocker at school

*demonstrating enthusiasm, attentiveness, and inquisitiveness as a learner

*continuing to learn to "read around the room" when faced with the challenge of unknown words

*fearlessly taking some risks as she learns to read and write

*continuing to learn to draw and colour pictures with more careful thought, detail, and attention to neatness

*following our many classroom and school expectations with fewer reminders from Miss Crocker and Miss Crocker

*always eagerly and attentively listening to stories read aloud to her

*always exuberantly and confidently contributing her delightful and unique insights to our Big Group class discussions and conversations without any prompting from Miss Crocker and Miss Crocker

*consistently playing safely and cooperatively with her classmates and with fewer reminders from Miss Crocker and Miss Crocker

*always being extremely respectful and kind to her classmates and teachers

*continuing to become a responsible and conscientious learner

*continuing to learn to actively and excitedly participate in all classroom activities; including all of our carpet and calendar songs and discussions

*continuing to learn to consistently print her first name and other simple words independently, correctly, and neatly the "school way"

*demonstrating growing responsibility and care of her belongings

*beginning to learn to read some simple texts, simple sentences, and high frequency sight words ("Snappy Words") with confidence, accuracy, and fluency

Jack is being recognized for:

*demonstrating tremendous growth in his confidence, maturity, and courage as Junior Kindergartener

*being an enthusiastic, curious, and inquisitive learner

*beginning to fearlessly and excitedly take more risks academically

*continuing to learn to actively and eagerly participate in all classroom activities; including all of our carpet and calendar songs and discussions

*consistently following all of the classroom expectations and routines without any reminders from Miss Crocker and Miss Crocker

*being a helpful, kind, and caring friend to all of his fellow classmates

*eagerly helping Miss Crocker and Miss Crocker whenever the need arises

*always playing cooperatively with his fellow classmates

*continuing to learn to complete his work with care and attention to detail

*taking initiative to complete his work independently and accurately

*continuing to learn to independently print his first name and other simple words correctly and neatly the "school way"

*always demonstrating careful thought when drawing and colouring simple pictures

*dressing and undressing himself without any assistance from Miss Crocker and Miss Crocker
