Student Data Analysis Fairs

December 2008 Data Fair
A data fair was held Tuesday December 16th, 2008 at Mother Teresa High

March 2008 Statistics Canada Data Fair The 2008 Data Fair was held Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in Ottawa at the Jean Talon Building of Statistics Canada (Tunney's Pasture). Thanks to all students and teachers who participated. :) See over 20 exemplary student projects from the Statistics Canada Data Fairs in the MDM4U Project Supports and Exemplars folder. 2007 Data Fair

The Halton-Peel Regional data fair was held at Sheridan College on Friday March 2, 2007. For more information, see http://www.hprdf.org/ 2006 Data Analysis Fairs 1) Statistics Canada Data Fair for MDM4U and Census at School Projects Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006 at Statistics Canada's Jean Talon Building, Ottawa. Teachers were invited to bring first semester students to present their projects and to meet with Statistics Canada staff who are very interested to see how students are using data. A teacher workshop on the latest Statistics Canada resources for Ontario math courses was held 2:15 - 3:45 PM. The fair was very well attended. 2) Halton Peel Regional Data Fair. March 3, 2006 at Sheridan College, Oakville The Halton Peel Regional Data Fair was an opportunity for Grade 7, 8, and 12 students to share their data management projects with other students, educators, and business professionals. See http://www.hprdf.org/ for details on this fair and the list of winners from last year. 3) Carleton Place High School/Statistics Canada Data Fair for MDM4U and Census at School projects. Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Carleton Place High School Teachers were invited to bring 1st semester students to present and 2nd semester classes to view the projects. A teacher workshop on the latest StatCan resources for Ontario math courses was held from 2:15 - 3:45 PM. All are welcome!
