(Christian Homeschool Online Community Board):
The CHOC Board is an interactive online resource center and information
network for Christian Homeschoolers in the Westside and now general
Portland, Oregon area. It is the personal ministry of our Communications
Coordinator, Tammy Arp, and has grown from her 12 years as a homeschooler
and her 10 years of support group leadership experience.
The CHOC Board seeks to provide the means for Christian homeschoolers,
homeschool groups, and homeschool supportive businesses in our area to form
a vibrant bridge of communication to inform and support each other.
Thus, it maintains current directories and listings of local homeschool
stores and organizations; an interactive homeschool community events
calendar; interactive message forums; and archive directory of contacts for
local activities, field trips, tutors, classes, clubs, etc., etc.,
etc.
It also contains information in its archive library for a myriad of helpful
homeschool advice gleaned from experienced homeschoolers such as "Handy
Links" for online homeschool curriculum freebies and subject support links;
a Homeschool 101 section for common "how-to" questions with downloadable
help articles; and "High School and College Helps" for those contemplating
or entering homeschool high school.
