Can I volunteer in the classroom?
Yes! Parent help is always welcomed and appreciated. If you wish to work with students, you must fill out the proper paperwork (VIM forms) available at the front office. If you wish to correct papers or do work other than working directly with kids, no paperwork is required. Please let me know if you would like to become involved in your child's classroom -- I have lots of opportunities for parents to help out!Back to Top

What do I do if my child reports bullying at school?
Bullying is absolutely NOT tolerated at Jefferson Elementary. If you feel your child is the victim of bullies, please advise a teacher or Mr. Sherwood, the principal, as soon as possible. Take time to talk to your child about being a responsible bystander. Getting bystanders to be empathetic to those students being bullied is the key to taking the power away from bullies. Back to Top
