Students are required to write thier homework assignments in their planner EVERY DAY. We take 10 - 15 mintues every day to go over all homework assignments. If your child is not clear about what their homework assignments are, he/she is not using their planner/planner pages as instructed. Please notify me if you are having trouble with homework. Students should read a minimum of 20 minutes every day (Monday - Thursday) and 20 minutes over the weekend. If your child is falling behind on their AR goals, this reading time may be increased by the teacher until AR goals are caught up. The district guideline for homework assignments is 10 min per grade level. Therefore, in sixth grade we are allowed up to 60 minutes per night for homework completion. Ususally it will take much less time than the alloted 60 minutes. If your child is struggling or exceeding this 60 minute allotment to complete his/her homework, please communicate with me so that we can work together to solve the homework struggles.
