Class Expectations

                                    Performance and Class Expectations

General
	* To ensure that the classroom is an enjoyable, safe, and caring learning environment
for everyone, ‘put downs’ (in any form) are not allowed.
	* Participation is a critical ingredient for a successful classroom. In order to receive an
‘A’ in my class you must ask questions, contribute thoughts, and answer
			questions.
	* Water and bathroom breaks are provided between classes - not during class.
	* No name - half credit (if eventually identified).
	* All KMS rules apply in G3.
	* Self Directed Learner (SDL) behaviors are encouraged and acknowledged. A letter
concerning the 7th grade team’s SDL grading will be sent home soon.
	* Late work loses approximately 10% per day. All late work must have
a “Late Homework” sheet attached to it explaining why the assignment is late
			and include a parent signature.

Scoring
	* Your overall grade is a compilation of scores from in-class assignments, homework,
			projects and quizzes.
	*  A=90-100%, B=80-89%, C = 70 - 79%, D=55-69%
	* You will regularly receive a printout (approx. every three weeks) to share with your
parents. I encourage you to keep all scored work to double check against the
printout. Errors in record keeping can occur, and if you keep your assignments
you can make sure the printout accurately reflects the grade you’ve earned.
The printout will also inform you about assignments not turned in or make-up
tests that need to be taken.
	* You and your parents can also go to Kennedy’s Web page to check up on your
grades. I tend to update this online resource every ten days or so.
	* To collect assignments, after an absence, look at the calendar (in the front of the room) for
that day’s assignments. Then use the corresponding assignment number to find the
assignment in the file folders right there. It is your responsibility to seek out and make up this
work. Being absent is no excuse for not doing an assignment.
