POW/Projects/Graphic Organizers
Problem of the Week (POW). Although we may not have them weekly,
POWs are required math story problems that develop skills for success in
and outside the classroom. Writing in mathematics aids in your learning
process as well as develops your communication skills. You will be scored on these.
Projects will be related to the curriculum and assigned periodically throughout
the year. These may be independent projects, partner projects or group projects.
Some will be done during class time, others will be assigned for outside the
classroom.
Graphic Organizers (GO's) are a tool to write about what you are learning. They
are designed to be kept daily as a written reflection on what you learned over the
course of a specific mathematics concept.
