Where does my child report when they are late to school?
Your student should report to Mrs. Berrier's office with a note from their
parent.
Who do I contact when my child will need to be released early?
Call Mrs. Berrier or send a note to school with your student so she can get
them a pass early with their release time and they can be waiting in the
office for you.
What do I do when I know my child will be gone at a future date?
Bring a note to Mrs. Berrier and she will arrange for the student to take
around a homework sheet to all of their teachers to get any assignments that
they might miss.
Where does my child go if they are feeling sick?
They should report to Mrs. Berrier's office. She can get in touch with
guardian if they need to go home.
Where should my child go if they need to use the phone?
Cell phones are not allowed at school between 7:45 and 3:15, so if your child
needs to make a phone call, they should report to Mrs. Berrier's office or
the front office. If they feel like they need to go home or need a parent's
phone number they should go to Mrs. Berrier's office. If they need to make
another kind of local call and it is between classes or they have a pass from
their teacher, they can come to the office and the secretary will direct them
to the phone in the lobby next to the drinking fountain.
Who do I see if my child would like to participate in sports?
You would need to speak with Mr. Bennett. You can call the front office and
they can put in touch with him or his voicemail.
What does my child do in case of a Fire or Earthquake?
Follow instructions given by teacher and remember techniques given during
drills.
What do I do if I need to speak with the Principal?
You can call the front office and they will get you in touch with the
Principal either by transfering you to her line if she is available to take
your call or by taking a message that will be given to her when she becomes
available.
What does my child do if they need to speak to or see the Principal?
They can stop by the office and see if she is available and if she is not,
they can leave her a note in her mailbox and she can reach them at a later
time.
Who do I speak to if I have a problem concerning buses?
You can call the bus garage at (503)843-4005. If this is not successful, you
can call the front office and we may be able to put you in touch with the bus
Manager.
Who do I speak to concerning my child's grades or missing assignments?
You can receive up-to-date grading and school work information on the P.A.S.S
website: http://www.sheridan.k12.or.us/SMWEB/smframe.htm You do need to have
a password and username, so if you do not have this information you will need
to contact the District Office at (503)843-2433.
Where can I find College and Scholarship information for my child?
In the FACULTY section of the website, you can click the link for Gary Mahe,
Counselor and this will take you the Career/Counseling page. You can also
call the front office and we can put you in touch with Mr. Mahe or Mrs.
Monroe, the ASPIRE coordinator.
How do I find out if my child qualifies for Free/Reduced Lunch?
You can pick up an application in the High School Office. I you feel that
there is a chance that your child may qualify, please fill out the
application and turn it in. The more students who are on Free or Reduced
Lunch, the more grant money our school may be qualified to receive.
How do I find out about school delays or closures due to bad weather?
Watch your local news stations and listen to the radio if you suspect there
may a delay or closure due to bad weather or other emergencies. The School
District notifies the news wire service as soon as a decision has been made,
making the information available to the public.
Who do I speak to about sports schedule questions or upcoming events?
You can check the upcoming dates section of the website or call the front
office at (503)843-2162.
