This is my 17th year at Sheridan High School, and my 27th year teaching over
all. I have always taught 9th grade, they are my specialty;however, over the
years, I have taught English in all high school grades and in junior high. In
fact, when I taught in Dufur, Oregon, I was the entire English department,
Algebra I, and Home-ec.
I am married and have two boys who attend Faulconer Chapman Grade School.
They are active in sports, robotics, and scouts.
My hobbies include reading (I love murder mysteries), sewing, and crafts.
Overall, our mission is to give the students the education that leads to
their ability to make choices and guide their own lives after graduation. We
strive to teach them the work skills that will make them successful in all
careers.
English I covers grammar, fundementals of writing, and literature.
English I should give the students the skills they will need to do well
during the next stages of high school, to communicate effectively, and to
compete after graduation.
English IV examines European literature with an emphasis in British Lit.
Students hone their writing skills as well.
The goal in Reading is to improve reading skills and comprehension.
Students will learn strategies to aid them in understanding their texts and
written works outside of school.
Drama produces a school play and teaches students teamwork, basic drama
terms & technology, as well as presentation skills.
