Unfortunately, I didn't get my update into the e-mail update in time, so the
update for 7-8 math and science and high school math and science for the week
of December 14th-16th follows:
7-8th Math: We are going to finish up writing equations and this week, we will
be talking about the distributive property and will continue to review PEMDAS.
Students will have homework every day, so make sure they have it done. None
of the homework should take more than 30-40 minutes.
7-8th Science: We are going to start balancing equations. First, we will look
at a chemical reaction and talk about what chemical and physical changes are,
then students will actually look at the equations of different reactions and
should be able to balance them by the end of the week. Again, students will
have homework pretty much every day, so make sure they have it done. The
homework will be challenging, and if they can't answer every question, that's
ok. Just encourage them to ask questions during class.
HS Math: I think everyone is behind on the schedules I passed out last week
except algebra 2 and pre-algebra. Everyone else will continue to work on the
schedules from last week, and hopefully, all that work will be in by friday.
I need to have it so that I can grade over the break. Algebra 2 will still be
working on the quadratic functions packet. I will have something for everyone
to be working on over the break.
HS Chemistry: We are going to continue to talk about moles, and we will move
on to talk about finding formulas based on how many moles or how many grams of
elements are in a compound I hope we will be able to do two labs this week,
and they're both a lot of fun. The material is very difficult, however, and
involves a lot of math, so I need everyone to be asking lots of questions.
There will be worksheets pretty much everyday if we stay on schedule, so
everyone, make sure to get your work in on time.
