Week 6 Quarter 2
This week we will be continuing on with the Constitution. In social studies
students will continue to work with the “We the People” text. Students will
also be watching a video on the forming of the constitution called “A More
Perfect Union”. In language arts this week, students have a book report
project due on Friday the 18th. Students will be working on the Précis that
accompanies the book report project throughout the week in class. Two days
of computer time have been dedicated to the book report project. Please
remember that the presentation needs to be e-mailed to me no later than the
morning of the 18th. Further clarification:
•Next week we will not be starting new words in language arts due to the
winter break. We will begin new vocabulary when we get back from break on
the 4th.
*Expect an eight page packet to be sent home on Wednesday the 16th. This
packet needs to be completed during break and will be due the Wednesday we
return from break (January 6th). Each page is worth ten points and is
intended to be review. If you do not understand the packet try your best and
I will help you after we return from break.
•If you have borrowed one of my books or a school books and are no longer
reading/using it please bring it back. My personal classroom library has
been depleted. A prize may be given ;0)
•Updated grades have been posted on PASS as well as my classroom wall.

Week 5 Quarter 2
This week we will continue looking at the Constitution and the role of
Government in America. Do not forget that there will be a spelling test on
Friday. Just a reminder, book report projects will take place next Friday
the 18th. We will have two days in the computer lab next week to work on
them. Make sure you are prepared to present by e-mailing me your
presentation as soon as it is complete. *Homework is subject to change this
week based on how far we get in our discussions. I will try to update and
include any changes or things added.

need to follow a specific format).
* Make a song to help remember the Bill of Rights
* Read Benjamin Franklins Autobiography and write a reflection with your
ideas and what events or ideas relate to the time period at hand.

This will be a short week. Remember that Thursday is art conspiracy day.
Friday we do not have school for grading. Your new words for this week will

up tests must be done by Thursday. Retakes will be available during

Week 1 Quarter 2
This week will be time for exhibition projects. We will be continuing on
with the events that led to the Revolutionary War as well as editing our
rough drafts and polishing them for a final. Please make sure that you are
using advisory time wisely. Also, DO NOT complete extra creidt assignments
if you have regular homework to work on for my class or other classes. Extra
Credit assignments will recieve a total of 5 points each and are to be a form
of enrichment if you so choose to complete them.

This will be a very busy week. Remember to check your planners and keep up
on due dates. I will be available after school on Monday for any and all
help. I am more than willing to help you with your essays. Don’t forget to
bring your flash drive. Tuesday I have computer time scheduled so that you
can update your Google docs documents for parent conferences as well as
research for your advisory project. Make the most of your time.

Writing prompts for "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" go out on Monday. Make
sure you choose which essay you would like to write. Book report requirments
will go out on Wednesday. Try to get your book report book done this week to
assure time for the assignment next week. Don't forget that conferences are
on the 6th, no school on the 11th, and finals are in two weeks.

Week 6
Hope you guys had a nice three day weekend! This week we have a few
surprises in store. On the 13th we will have a guest presentation and work
shop on Native American story telling. I think it will be a great experience
for us all. The most important surprise is that we are NOT scheduled for
testing! Other than that I foresee a rather “standard” week. As always,
make sure to ask for clarifications if needed.
