The kids' rehearsal was very good today. You will love the program Friday evening. Remember, it is at Sunnyside SDA church, near the Adventist Medical Center and PAA. The kids should arrive at 6:30 p.m. and the program is set for 7 p.m. Sit near the middle, the sound is better than in the front. Bring your video camera, they sound great!
The Big Interview is due Jan. 7. If you have lost your copy of the assignment and suggested questions to ask, look at "The Big Interview" page of this website. You can print another copy whenever you need it.
This is the time of year we focus on giving. The students have chosen several projects through ADRA: Water purification for a family $15; Treatment for a Starving Child $15; A Goat for a family in the Philippines $70; a hygiene kit for disaster survivors $25, and (if we get enough support) a Bee Hive for a Tunisian family $100. Please help your child find ways to earn/collect money for these efforts. Mrs. Houghton's mom will buy a goat for the first class (5th or 6th) to bring in $70. Maybe you'd like to offer a matching gift, so we can double the good gifts going to those people in need. Check out www.adra.org.
Food Tasting - We need recipes!
Our moms are the best cooks! All of the foods were tasty, but these were the favorites at our food tasting party:
fried tofu (both sauces), Ho douk (Korean pancakes), lumpia (Filipino eggroll), pandebonos (yucca flour "bagel"), sweet potato souffle. Please send recipes so we can share these foods with our family. Thanks.
No Late Papers
Mrs. Houghton will institute a policy like Mrs. McKeone's - late papers lose 25% and papers may be re-done only by permission. We hope this will stem the number of routinely late papers and help encourage better habits.
