WAY TO GO D107!!!!
I am very proud of my students. They are completing all of their homework,
reading every night and did an outstanding job on following the classroom
and school "must behaviors" during the past two weeks.
Thank you parents for your outstanding job!
We are slowly but positively getting into our routine.
"What did you do today?" asks the parent.
"Nothing." answers the child.
Let me tell you what we are doing in class everyday.....
Reading- We are reading realistic fiction. We will start reading groups on
Monday. They are beginning to move through their centers (vocabulary,
spelling, handwriting, WOW, ).
Math Class- We are collecting, analyzing, interpreting data in different
types of graphs. Mad minutes everyday as well as math maintenance and
mental math activities! Did you see your child's mad minute graph on
Friday? Hopefully you saw how much they "grew" during the week.
Science- We have begun our unit on the Solar System. We have learned what
the universe is, what is included in the Milky Way Galaxy, the names of the
planets and where they are located in our solar system. We will begin
discussing what astronomers do and learning all about the moon.
At the end of the unit, your child will make a wacky planet of their own to
display in our centrum. More information will be coming about that.
Writing- We have begun to discuss and write descriptive paragraphs. They
will move into personal narratives after practicing this new skill.
We are learning new letters in cursive.
BOOK ORDERS were due this past Friday. I sent them in over the weekend.
Give them 7-10 days to come back to school. Thank you for the orders!
