Week of December 14th – December 18th
Reading – This week is our last story in Unit 2. The story is titled, “Bunny
Cakes”. The focus skill is cause and effect. The letter of the week is Aa. We
will concentrate on the short Aa sound – as in “apple”. The high frequency
words are still “I” and “am”, and the vocabulary words are eggs, milk, flour,
cake, and frosting.
Math – Chapter 4 continues this week with the numbers 11 and 12. Students
will also practice different ways to make those numbers, ordering numbers,
and problem solving skills.
Classroom News and Events – The Christmas trees look so festive out in the
hallway. I have received many comments on how creative they are. Great job
kindergarten!
This is our last full week before the holiday break. We will continue with
the regular classroom schedule, but students will also be making special
crafts to prepare us for the upcoming holidays.
Please make sure students are dressed warmly when they come to school. Also
practice zipping coats and putting on gloves so students can get themselves
ready for dismissal. Thank you for your cooperation.
