Student Homework Responsibilities
Weekly Assignments
- Nightly Reading: Benchmark library books for 30 minutes each night and one night over weekend (You may break up the minutes in 15 or 10 minute increments)
- Response to Nightly Reading: Prepare for daily book sharing
- Parent Read Aloud: 15 minutes each night and one night over weekends
- Parent Read Aloud Response: due every Thursday, take notes
- Social Studies: due Thursday
- Current Events: due Friday
- Science: due Wednesday
- Cursive: due Friday
- Math: 20-30 minutes each night
Helpful Hints
o Complete your homework in the same, quiet place and at the same time each night.
o Gather all the materials you need before you begin.
o Ask a parent or guided study teacher to help you proofread your assignments.
o Place completed assignments and books in your binder and schoolbag as soon as you finish.
- Take pride in your assignments and do your best work.
- Plan to complete assignments ahead of time instead of waiting until the night before.
- Ask for help from a teacher at any time! We are available to meet with students before school and during recess
