Students will receive a group grade and be evaluated in four different areas.
1. Vocabulary - 20 points
Correctly defining the 20 vocabulary words using the provided resources
2. Earth's Volcanoes Table - 25 points
Accurately completing the table using the provided resources
3. Volcanic Eruption Questions - 10 points
Correctly and completely answering questions #1 - 3 relating to volcanic
eruptions
These three assignments are worth a total of 55 points or 50% of your
overall grade. They will be completed in Microsoft Word or Appleworks and
the file will be handed in electronically once you have completed the
assignment.
In addition, the information required for your team's final
project should be submitted to me when you have completed your research. I
will check to make sure you understand the material and are ready to begin
your project.
4. Final Project and Presentation - 50% of your overall grade
In addition to the information described on each position page, you also
must include the following in your final powerpoint or keynote project:
- A Title page (1 slide)
- A background other than white
- Text effects (how text enters the slide)
- Transitions between slides
The rubric that will be used to grade your final project and presentation
has been handed out to you. Don't lose this copy. It will be handed in at
the time of your presentation and used to assess your work.
These two grades will then be averaged together to get your final, overall
grade!
