April is National Poetry Month! Spring is in the air and poems are
everywhere:) In an effort to create an awareness of poetry, this month I'd
like to share with you some of my favorites.
My teaching career started in second grade...and this poem by A. A. Milne is
one of my all time favorites.
"When I was One,
I had just begun.
When I was Two,
I was hardly new.
When I was Three,
I was barely me.
When I was Four,
I was not much more.
When I was Five,
I was just alive.
But now I am Six, I'm as clever as clever.
So I think I'll be Six now forever and ever."
-A. A. Milne, "Now We Are Six"
To instill in my students a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
