Discipline Plan
This year we will be using a 7 step discipline plan. Every day your child will start at green which is “Ready to Learn.” They have the opportunity to move up for excellent behavior or move down if their behavior needs improvement. If your child has to move down and improves their behavior throughout the day, they may move back up also. It is a behavior plan meant to work with each child’s needs and give the children the opportunity to recognize where they need improvement and be acknowledged for their good behavior.
7 Step Behavior Chart
Pink- Outstanding
Purple- Great Job
Blue- Good Day
Green- Ready to Learn
Yellow- Think about it
Orange- Miss Out
Red- Parent Contact
In your child’s green folder they will have a monthly behavior calendar, which will stay in their folder for the whole month. Each day at the end of the day your child will color in the circle corresponding with their color for the day. If your child receives yellow, orange, or red I will write the number of the rule that they broke; therefore, you can reinforce the behavior at home also. Please discuss your child’s behavior each night and initial the calendar.
Our Classroom Rules
1. We will listen and follow directions.
2. We will be nice to others.
3. We will use good manners.
4. We will raise our hand to talk.
5. We will do our best every day.
6. We will take care of our things.
7. We will talk quietly.
When your child gets on pink for the day they will be able to choose a “prize,” which is something special they are able to do in the classroom. Some examples of prizes are: sit in Ms. Smith’s desk for the day, be the classroom helper, be the first person in the lunch line, choose their seat for the day, read a book to the class, bring a stuffed animal to school for the day, no homework pass, etc.
