Ms. Christine Friel
Blessed Virgin Mary Darby
I am very excited to be a part of the BVM Family! I have taught at area
high schools before being invited to become a part of BVM. While I have
experience with students of all ages in all grades, nothing beats the
excitement of the junior high school grades. This is my third year at BVM and
I enjoy the students and staff here more and more every year.
Teaching Language Arts is my passion; Social Studies my joy. Religion is an
important part of my life and I look forward to teaching and experiencing
Catholicism as a class.
I went to Chestnut Hill College as an undergraduate and earned a degree in
English Literature. Recently, I finished a Master's degree in Education from
Cabrini College. I have lived in the Philadelphia area my whole life, but
love to travel when I can.
I love reading, reading and reading! Biographies, the classics, mysteries and
anything in between, I love to read. I also love music, and try to
incorporate music into learning whenever I can.
I live in Havertown with a nice dog named Brandy and a mean cat named
Fall is my favorite season and I can't wait for it to begin!
I will be working with the students to get them ready for high school.
Our year will be filled with learning as we challenge ourselves to do our
best every day. Numerous activities are planned to involve each student in
keeping with the philosophy of BVM school.
