Cory Placer graduated from Smethport Area High School in 1989. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Edinboro University in 1993. Thereafter, he received his Master of Science of Education Degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Bonaventure University in 1996. Currently, Mr. Placer is enrolled in post-graduate coursework at Gannon University. Mr. Placer was previously employed at Bradford Regional Medical Center for 7 1/2 years prior to joining Bradford Area School District. He worked for 4 1/2 years as a Mental Health Therapist primarily on the General Psychiatric Unit with some time spent on the MICA Unit (Mentally Ill Chemically Addicted). For the last three years of his employment at BRMC, he served as the Psychiatric Services Coordinator of BRS spending ample time promoting BRS programs and staff while meeting the educational needs of outside and area agencies.
