The High School Concert Choir is an elective program designed to provide students in grades 9 through 12 with comprehensive musical and educational experiences through the process of singing fundamentals, music literacy, rehearsals, and performances. The instructional curriculum includes methods for developing appropriate vocal production, choral blend and articulation, sight reading, music literacy, and performance and rehearsal decorum.

The High School Choral Department is committed to excellence in the performance of choral music literature from the Middle Ages to the 20th Century. The Choir will perform music from countries around the world in their original language (Italian, German, French, Spanish, Latin) as well as from our own American heritage.

Students are afforded the opportunity to develop their individual vocal gifts in a positive, encouraging ensemble setting. The Concert Choir program requires students to attend and participate in scheduled rehearsals and performances both during and beyond the school day.

In the course of intelligent and regular vocalization during class, one-on-one and group lessons, and public performances throughout the school year, our students will develop the knowledge in reading and musicianship in order to successfully continue their music activities throughout their adult lives.
