Course Syllabus Concert Choir
Overview:
High School Concert Choir is an elective program designed to
provide students in grades 9 through 12 with positive musical and educational
experiences through the process of singing fundamentals, rehearsals, and performances.
This mixed choir studies and performs choral literature
selected from a variety of historical periods and cultures. The course is
designed to introduce and develop advanced singing techniques and music-reading
skills. The Concert Choir program requires students to attend and
participate in lessons/sectionals and scheduled rehearsals and performances
both during and beyond the school day.
Through intelligent and regular vocalization during class
and lessons and public performances throughout the school year, our students
will develop the knowledge in reading and comprehensive musicianship in order
to successfully continue their music activities throughout their adult lives.
