Enrollment Process & Forms

Lottery Enrollment Application Process:

Bucks County Montessori Charter School follows all of the set guidelines to enrollment as noted in SECTION 1723a of PA Act 22 related to charter school law. Enrollment into BCMCS is limited to the month of February of each year. BCMCS conducts an Open House for the community, held on the first Thursday in February, which further explains all the criteria and guidelines of our enrollment procedure.

There are two requirements for allowance to enroll : (1) The child must be 5 years of age by September 1st for kindergarten, 6 years for grade 1, etc. and (2) all required immunizations must be current.
Any child who lives in Pennsylvania can apply for admission to Bucks County Montessori Charter School; however, acceptance is based on available space as determined by the school. If there is not enough space for all students who apply, qualified students are selected randomly via a public lottery, with preferential status provided based on the following criteria:

1. The children of the families listed as Founders of BCMCS are afforded primary preferential status in accordance with Act 22.

2. Siblings of students currently enrolled at BCMCS are given the next preferential status. Letters are sent in January to BCMCS families for intent to return as well as notification of sibling's enrollment intent.

3. Children of families who reside in BCMCS' host school district, Pennsbury, are provided the next preferential status.

4. Lastly, children outside the host district are provide status.

The Formal Lottery is conducted on the first Thursday in March. The Lottery is held in an open setting, whereas all of the applicant names are placed on cards and set in a box to be randomly selected, based on the above criteria. A list is then compiled of the students who have been offered acceptance into the school based on the number of available spots open at that time, with a waiting list also compiled from the lottery pull.
