Dear Parents:
We certainly had a very busy week. We talked about the six important food
groups. The children thought of different fruits, vegetables, breads,
poultry, meats, and sweets that begin with certain letters.
They cut out important foods from magazines, and also colored and cut out the
ones that were given to them. They glued them on the correct places
designated on a cut out food pyramid.
This week the children will complete their food pyramids, just wait till you
see!!
Starting Tuesday we will begin our Thanksgiving unit. The children will learn
about Native Americans and the Pilgrims. We will talk about good manners and
how to use them at the dinner table.
Many of you already know that our class was given money to buy something
special for our room. Thank you so very much to you, Mrs. Mirarchi! I bought
two fun items for the children. One, you probably already know and that's the
Cinderella Castle, this has become a popular place to play. I also purchased
a fort and tee-pees. This is made of hard cardboard and hopefully the
children will be careful when they are playing with it.
Monday the children will complete their food pyramids, play a new BINGO rhyme
game, and of course play with their new toys! It should be a great day.
Blessings,
Mrs. Heiss and Mrs. Ault
