The Weekly Buzz
Updates:
Happy New Year and welcome back!! I hope each of you enjoyed
your holidays.
Since this is the first week back after being gone for a couple of weeks we
will take things a little slow. We will transition into the new year where
we left off. But once we get settled you will begin to notice that we will
up-the-anti just a bit. By this I mean we will expect a little more
independence from each child from the bathroom to hanging up their coats. We
will also offer more challenging ways for them to learn their colors and
shapes. The new year also brings with it the outside playground. If we have
any nice days this winter and there is no snow on the ground we will venture
out to the playground. So please make sure your child has a coat, hat and
mittens. But for this week we will be going to the bike room. Here's to a
good week!
Crafts:
This week's theme: Polar Bears and Penguins. We will be making polar
bear with only circles and we will be making penguins. Be sure to take a
close look at the penguin's feathers. The children will be using scissors!
Circle Time:
We will read Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? and Penguin
Pete's New Friends. We will play Snowballs Through the Hoop and Find the
Missing Mitten. We will begin to learn January's finger play.
Reminders:
In house registration begins Friday, 15 January 2010.
