HAPPY NEW YEAR
WEEKLY LETTER
January 5 -7, 2010
Trust you and your young sprouts enjoyed the time off from pre-school by
sharing it with family and other friends. We understand the excitement and
emotional overload of this holiday and will take it very slow in getting back
into our routine.
After long breaks we will have to relearn the rules but that will happen
faster this time around. Although we do not expect any problem with this
exceptional group of students, we will spend the week reviewing and
practicing our good manners.
TUESDAY: We will ring in the new year by painting a bell at the easel and
making a bell to hang on a doorknob.
WEDNESDAY: A ribbon calendar with a gingerbread boy will be made for use
throughout the remainder of the year. This graphic reinforcement of numbers
and times we talk about should be helpful all year.
THURSDAY: “SHOW & TELL” – This is their big chance to bring in and show-off
ONE item they got for Christmas. If Christmas is not a gift exchange holiday
in your home just send any favorite item of their choice, no ponies please.
Coming-Up: Classroom observations will begin shortly. This will be your
chance to visit their classroom in session and see first hand all the fun you
have only been hearing about. By signing up in advance you are invited to
spend one hour or the whole morning. Expect to see your rapidly maturing
student interact with others instead of being with you during this visit.
So, you are welcome to be part of activities and to play along with any
student, not just your own.
Remember we have a new pupil now making a total of 16 and still just two
teachers. Lisa and I will be glad to see all of you.
