Parents,
We are finally ready to celebrate our Thanksgiving Feast. Our costumes are
done, we know many new things about the first Thanksgiving, we learned how
to sign “Happy Thanksgiving”, and even made homemade baked corn. Everyone
is looking forward to the “Feast” on Tuesday. Please bring your contributions
on Tuesday morning, and please label any containers you want returned to you.
A few parents asked if they could attend the Feast, as much as we would love to
have you join us, it is just for the children and the Helpers. Don’t worry, we’ll take
lots of pictures! Now, when we have our Christmas Tea(Thursday, December 18)
everyone and anyone is encouraged and invited to attend! A special “thank you” to
Mrs. Sayed and Ms. Somers for assembling the beautiful table decorations for the
Feast. Amazing what you can do with a glue gun and pineconesJ
This short week we will continue to learn more about what we are thankful for and
what we will be eating for Thanksgiving dinner. We will also have a special guest on
Monday. Levi’s Grandmother, Melissa Stock, will be coming to our class to play
music for us and teach us some new songs, we are very excited to have her join us.
We always welcome anyone who would like to share their special talents with us.
We have a few requests for you. First, please call the school phone(761-6003)to let
us know if your child will be absent, you can leave a message. It not only helps us
with our daily planning, but we also worry about the children when we don’t see them
in the morning. We are also in need of the containers that the small Crystal Light(or any brand)
lemon-ade comes in. They come in handy when we paint. We are in need of one more
person to join Mrs. DePietress and Mrs. Facius as a “Christmas Tea Helper”. This does
not involve games or crafts, just being a gracious host or hostess for our guests, any
volunteers? As always, we depend greatly on all our wonderful parents to make these
special occasions happen.
As a reminder, we only have school this week on Monday and Tuesday, we will see all
of you again on Tuesday, December 1, no school on Monday, November 30. There
will be no “Show and Tell” this week.
As you all sit down with your families and friends on Thanksgiving Day, take a moment
to look around you, and take time to give thanks for all the blessings that you have. Although
we all have our share of trying times and life’s struggles to deal with, we all are very fortunate
to have the necessities of life right in front of us. Give thanks for your warm home, the good
food on the table, and most especially, the loving people, young and old, surrounding you. It
is a wonderful day to relax and take a deep breath before the hustle, bustle of the Christmas
season. We both are thankful for the children you bring to us each day, and grateful that you
trust us to do the best job we can to help them grow to be confident, happy and caring people.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
