Spelling Five Day Schedule
This year you will notice a few changes in Spelling. We have decided to
combine the spelling that is integrated with our Reading series and our
current spelling program, Sitton Spelling. The most apparent change is that
students are now given a weekly spelling list of 25 words (20 Scott Foresman
words and 5 Sitton Core words). We will also continue working on phonics
skills and proofreading skills each week. Please check with your child as
they have been provided with a Spelling folder and practice book which
contains all necessary worksheets for each unit.
Day 1: Pretest. Pretests returned (achievement of 100% or 96% exempts
students from the spelling posttest), write misspelled words 5x for homework,
Parents sign pretests.
Day 2: Begin skill worksheets found in Spelling workbook. 5x each is due.
Day 3: Continue working on skill worksheets. Study spelling list and core
words.
Day 4: Spelling skill worksheets are due.
*"Dear Parents" worksheet is to be completed for homework
with parent/caregiver and signed.
Day 5: Word posttest and skill test
