About The Teacher

I consider education a partnership between parents, students, and
teachers. When all members of this partnership work together we get
the greatest benefit from our educational system. I hope you will feel
free to contact me with your concerns and ideas. You can reach me at
the school during regular school hours, after school and on weekends via e-
mail.

Your child and I will be spending a good part of the day together, so
I thought you might like to know a little bit about me. In addition to
earning an Associate Degree in Social Science, I am a Bloomsburg University
graduate times three, having received degrees from Bloomsburg in each of the
last three decades. I’ve earned Bachelor degrees in Business Administration
and Elementary Education as well as, a graduate degree in Reading. In
August of 2006, I completed a Master of Science Degree in Special Education
at Wilkes University. I am an officer in the Alpha Rho Chapter of Delta
Kappa Gamma, a professional organization of women educators.

I have been teaching in the Dallas School District since 1997. During
that time, I’ve taught Gifted Support (Westmoreland Elementary), fifth grade,
fourth grade and Learning Support (Dallas Elementary). I am looking forward
to teaching third grade at Wycallis Elementary School during the 2012-2013
school year.

On a more personal level, my husband, Glenn, and I have been married for
28 years, and we have two daughters. Aimee is a graduate of Temple
University. She is currently living and working in the Philadelphia area.
Our youngest daughter, Katie, is a graduate of Kings College in
Wilkes-Barre. She is currently enrolled in the Kings College teacher
certification program and is planning on a future as a high school biology
teacher. We share our house with our dogs: Jack, Libby Lou WaHoo, Spunky, our
little cat, Izzy, and our fish, Bubbles. All of our favorite critters
ask that you consider the S.P.C.A. and animal rescue programs when planning
for a new pet.
