About The Teacher

I consider education a partnership between parents, students, and
teachers. When all members of this partnership work together we get
the greatest benefit from our educational system. I hope you will feel
free to contact me with your concerns and ideas. You can reach me at
the school during regular school hours, after school and on
weekends via e-mail.
Your child and I will be spending a good part of the day together, so
I thought you might like to know a little bit about me. In addition to
earning an Associate Degree in Social Science, I am a Bloomsburg University
graduate times three, having received degrees from Bloomsburg in each of the
last three decades. I’ve earned Bachelor degrees in Business Administration
and Elementary Education as well as, a graduate degree in Reading. In
August of 2006, I completed a Master of Science Degree in Special Education
at Wilkes University. Most recently, I was inducted into the Alpha Rho
Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional organization of
women educators.
This is my eleventh year of teaching in the Dallas School District.
During that time, I’ve taught Gifted Support (Westmoreland Elementary),
fifth grade, fourth grade and Learning Support (Dallas Elementary). I am
looking forward to teaching third grade at Wycallis Elementary School during
the 2009-2010 school year.
On a more personal level, I am married and have two daughters.
Aimee is a graduate of Temple University. She is currently living and
working in the Philadelphia area. Our youngest daughter, Katie, is
twenty-one. She is beginning her junior year at King's College, majoring in
Biology. We share our house with two dogs(Angel and Sophie) and our newest
addition, Izzy Cat. Angel is a retired greyhound, and Sophie was formerly
adopted at our local S.P.C.A. Our Izzy Cat was adopted from the Montgomery
County S.P.C.A. All of our favorite critters ask that you consider adoption
from a shelter or rescue when deciding on a new pet.
