About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
I graduated from Wyoming Valley West high School then went on to receive an Associates Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Luzerne County Community College. I attended Kutztown University which allowed me the amazing experience of student teaching in South Dakota at a boarding school for Native American students. After graduating from Kutztown with a dual Bachlors Degree in Elementary and Early Chilhood Education, I had two long term substitute positions in third and fourth grades in the Brandywine Heights School District, located outside of Kutztown. I have been a teacher at Dallas Elementary ever since. I have received a Masters Degree in classroom technology from Wilkes University. While at Dallas Elementary I taught fourth grade for the first four years, fifth grade for the next four, and have now returned to fourth grade. During my years as a teacher I have run a homework club for my students, tutored in the before and after-school math and reading programs, run school-wide programs to support our troops, and I was the Dallas High School girls' volleyball coach for two years. On a personal note, I am a founding member and a snare drummer in the newly formed bagpipe and drum band named Wyoming Valley Pipe and Drum Band. I enjoy hobbies such as reading, geneology, learning about the history of our state and our area, and spending time with friends and family. I have recently gotten married to my wonderful husband, Kevin.
