Welcome to the Dallas Elementary Instrumental Program. Soon your home
will be filled with "sounds from out of this world!" With daily practice, we
hope to turn these "sounds" into beautiful harmonious notes. But the key is
DAILY PRACTICE. At this stage of development, the most important elements
are learning the notes and how to produce the notes on the instrument. We
recommend many daily short-term practice sessions the first few weeks and
gradually building to longer daily practice sessions. Students will have a 30
minute lesson once a week during the school day. See the Instrument Schedule
for your lesson day. Students need to practice at least once a day for
continued success. The Winter Holiday Concert is scheduled for Thursday,
December 15, 7:30 PM, at the Dallas Middle School. The Spring Concert date
is Wednesday, May 16,7:30 PM, at the Middle School. If you did not get

page, print the interest form, fill in the information, and return it to Mr.
Hoover as soon as possible.
Your selection and source of instrument may be made on an individual,
free choice basis. If you wish to use one of the 2 vendors that service the
Dallas School District weekly, please indicate your wish to use one of those
vendors.
Lessons begin the week of September 26. Make certain your instrument is
ready for that week. Schedule of lessons will follow.
