After graduating from Kutztown University, I taught fifth grade for two
years in Petersburg, Virginia. Working in an inner-city school presented me
with many challenges and experiences that have helped make me a better
person and teacher. After two years, I decided to return home to work on my
master's degree.

During this time, I substituted at Dallas and was a tutor for the
afterschool math program. My first full year at Dallas, I taught fourth
grade at Wycallis Elementary and I continued working with the afterschool
math program. The following year, I moved to fifth grade at Dallas
Elementary. I also continued tutoring with the afterschool math program. This
past year wrapped up my sixth year in fifth grade at Dallas Elementary. Oh,
and I almost forgot to mention, I have also had a blast the past six summers
teaching at our summer program.

This year will be my seventh year teaching fifth grade at Dallas
Elementary. I am very excited to start the new school year and meet the new
fifth graders!

This past July, my husband and I welcomed our first child, Kevin Jr. to
our family. My guinea pig Guinners and two hamsters (Hannibal & Bella)
complete our home. I enjoy traveling and have most recently been to Peter
Island, one of the British Virgin Islands! I also enjoy shopping, riding on
my wave runner, snow skiing, and curling up with a good book.

Only as far as I seek can I go,
Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be."--Karen Ravn
