DAILY HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS:
Homework reinforces skills taught in school and teaches students
responsibility. All homework assignments are posted on the chalkboard.
They are then recorded by your child on their weekly homework assignment
sheet. This assignment sheet should be kept in their homework folder.
If you do not understand the homework, please contact me at home (675-8143).
All HOMEWORK MUST BE SIGNED by a parent or care giver. Please be aware
that more than 5 missed assignments will be noted on your child’s report
card.
SPELLING TESTS:
Spelling tests will be sent home as soon as they are graded. The test needs
to be signed and returned the following day. In addition, if there are any
words misspelled, the student needs to write those words 3 times on the
reverse side of the test. Since our Spelling program is cyclical, these are
words your child should devote extra time to studying.
READING AND GRAMMAR/ENGLISH TESTS: I try to send all tests home as
soon as they are graded. Therefore, please check the daily homework folder
and make sure that ALL TESTS are SIGNED AND RETURNED.
HOMEWORK and DAILY CLASSWORK:
Homework and daily classwork will be sent home in the daily homework folder
as soon as they are corrected. These papers can be reviewed by the students
and their parents/care givers, and corrected for reinforcement. However,
there is no need to return these papers unless you have a question or if
there is a written request on the paper to do so (example: “Please finish and
return”; “Please make corrections and return”).
