How far in advance will students know a test will be given?
Generally, students will know about a week in advance that a test is going to
be given. There are usually 6 or 7 sections per chapter and a test is given
after each chapter is completed.
How often are quizzes given?
Quizzes are given on a near daily basis. They are usually designed around
the current topic of study. Students should study their notes and do
homework on a regular basis to be successful with quizzes.
Is homework checked? If so, does it count toward the final average?
Yes, most homework is checked. Each homework assignment is
usually two points. These points add up quickly and will have a positive or
negative impact on the final grade.
When are your tutorials?
Mrs. Berecin's tutorials are every Monday and Friday during flex
period. As instructed in the beginning of the course, if these times
conflict with your schedule on a particular week, please come and see me to
make other arrangements.
Are progress reports sent home?
Yes, progress reports are sent home twice a semester (once each marking
period) for every single student. They are sent home with the student and
are signed by a parent/guardian, then returned.
Is any other tutoring available?
Yes, students can request a regular student tutor at any time they feel it is
necessary. The initial meeting will be set up for them.
