Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
  1. Will I be graded solely on my artistic ability?
  2. What happens if I fail to turn in a project?
  3. What happens if I am out of school for an extended period of time?

Will I be graded solely on my artistic ability?

No, there are many factors built into a grade. Most projects have a rubric
that is the basis of the student grade. Other factors play into the grade,
and they are the student's effort to work to the best of their ability,
their classroom participation, their willingness to go back and make
teacher suggested improvements to their work and classroom behavior.

What happens if I am out of school for an extended period of time?

If the absence is planned, the student is expected to get necessary
assignments and supplies to work on the project while away. If the absence
is due to illness, work may be sent home in order for the student to keep up
with projects, or upon return to school, the student may sign out supplies
to take home so work can be done there. There are also 2 weekly
opportunities for a student to attend an art tutorial in order to get caught
up. The tutorials are A Flex on Tuesday and Friday.
