NOTICE : This page should only be used by students who have been in class and want to confirm homework assignments. When absent, it is better to await instruction before attempting something that introduces a new concept. SPANISH IV - 10/6 - Review the causal verbs and the use of subjunctive. Complete the handout that reviews family members and the indirect commands. Quiz on Friday. 10/8 - Quiz tomorrow !! Study ! 10/14 - Review the sunjunctive as used with verbs of doubt. Write three sentences expressing certainty about something and three expressing doubt about something to share with the class tomorrow. 10/19 - Review the verbs of emotion that require a subjunctive verb after the "que". Complete the exercise begun in class - p.258, ex. 4 with translation. 10/20 - Review the verbs that require an indirect object pronoun when used in the sentences that we are studying. Then do p. 261, ex 9 - choose 5 out of the 8 and tell what the person worries about or is pleased about, or... 10/22 - Notebook check tomorrow. All make-up work must be done by Tuesday, October 27, 2009. 10/26 - Pick an object from p. 250, p. 266, or p. 267 and describe it WITHOUT using its name - with three sentences. 10/28 - Open book quiz on the use of the subjunctive with verbs of doubt and emotion on Friday, Oct. 30. Review recent exercises and class work to have questions where you have any doubts in class tomorrow. 11/2 - Review the pressent perfect tense and complete p. 287 ex.10 using that tense to say how often in the last 7 days you have done what is mentioned. 11/3 - Review irregular present perfect verbs on p. 288. 11/5 - Read the yellow inset article on p. 288 and record three facts included in the article. 11/6 - Complete p. 289, ex.13 to ask questions and answer what has happened in the house during the day. 11/9 - Study the vocabulary from the dialogue on p. 293. A quiz on this chapter is coming up soon !! 11/10 - Study for quiz on present perfect tense and news vocabulary on Friday !! 11/16 - Study the tener idioms and find a picture to bring in that suggests one of them. 11/17 - Review the tener idioms and the newspaper vocabulary from class today. 11/18 - Study the formation of the past perfect tense and review the exercises that we did in class. 11/24 - Review the formation of the future tense and complete ex. 18 on p. 335. Know the tranlsation. 12/1 - Study the irregular future tense verbs and complete workbook p. 51 for class tomorrow. 12/4 - Rewrite your future plans and illustrate for credit ! Due Monday. SPANISH III - 10/6 - Complete the last two exercises on the worksheet for the irregular preterites. Make sure you know what each is saying !!!! Quiz on the irregular preterite verbs on Friday, Oct. 9 !!! 10/8 - Quiz on the irregular preterites tomorrow !! 10/9 - Quiz on the Mexico map and facts on Wednesday,Oct 14 ! 10/13 - Quiz tomorrow on the Mexico map and facts accumulated over the last two weeks. Format is with a word bank for each section. 10/15 - Write a list of the reflexive verbs on p. 46 with their meanings and the "Yo" form of the verb. 10/19 - Write p.47 ex. 8 in group work style, i.e. write the Tu form of the question then, A)Transalte to English, and B)Answer for yourself in Spanish. 10/20 - Review the reflexive verbs and then write p. 51, ex. 15 to say what the boy or girl is doing right now.(In the present progressive tense.) 10/21 - Notebook check tomorrow. Complete the bottom of handout number 16 by filling in the preterite form of the verb given. Then translate the verbs in the space below the paragraph. 10/22 - Notebook check completed tomorrow. All make-up work for the quarter due by Tuesday, October 27, 2009. 10/26 - Complete p. 56 ex. 24 stating what people will need to do the action described. 10/28 - Quiz on the reflexive verbs and bathroom vocabulary on Monday, Nov. 2. 10/30 - Don't forget the quiz on Monday !!! 11/2 - Don't forget to have conference slips signed and returned tomorrow for extra credit. 11/3 - Review the parts of the body on p. 65 and complete p 66 ex. 8 by translating the clue sentence to English and stating the part of the body in Spanish. 11/4 - Review the verb "doler" and how to say that something hurts. Complete p. 73, ex.21 to say what hurts each person. 11/5 - Complete the word search on the handout by writing the Spanish word next to the English list with the definite article and then find each Spanish word in the puzzle. 11/6 - Study the new verbs on p. 69 and the exercise done in class on the hand-out. There will be a quiz next week on the parts of the body, doler, and the new reflexive verbs. 11/9 - Complete the translation of p.68 ex. 11 and draw a picture of what it describes. Extra credit for use of color !! 11/10 - Study for body parts, doler, and new reflexive verbs quiz on Friday !! 11/16 - Study the town vocabulary and familiar affirmative commands - especially the irregular ones on p. 89. 11/17 - Review the formation of the formal commands and the 5 irregulars we went over in class. 11/18 - Review the formal commands and complete p.100 ex 21 with translation. Pay attention as to whether you are using the Ud. or Uds. form. 11/19 - Study the formation of all three command forms learned. 11/24 - Think about what command project demonstration you will present to the class. Be prepared to tell Senora Redmond with whom you will work and what your chosen demonstration project is. 12/1 - Review the command forms and the dictation done in class today to review for the quiz on Thursday. REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR RECIPES FOR YOUR COMMAND PROJECT TO WORK ON IN CLASS TOMORROW !! 12/4 - Make sure your command project is organized and you know what your responsibilities are !! 12/7 - Review the formation of the imperfect tense and complete p.139, ex.5 and translate the result to English.
