RULES-- REGLAS
Español 1 y 2…Señora Sharkus
ssharkus@dallassd.com
You
are expected to do the following:
1.
come to class every day
with a positive attitude- and SPEAK SPANISH IN CLASS every day.
2.
bring the text book, notebook, assignments, projects,
writing utensils ( black or blue ink or pencil) and paper.
3.
keep a 3-ring binder
notebook, with notes, homework and handouts, organized into chapters. A
daily planner is an excellent idea. Every sheet must be completed in order to
earn a Notebook grade.
4.
take care of the text book. You are responsible for the
book. Damage will result in a fine of $
10.00. If the book is lost or destroyed,
you will be charged $50.00.
( the cost to replace it ) The book must be covered.
5.
You are expected to retain and remember all vocabulary and grammar we
study. Study every day! Flash cards are an excellent method of vocabulary study.
6.
make up all work, tests, quizzes and projects within two
weeks, or take a zero. ( Non- compliance is a zero
too.)
7.
realize the impact a zero has on your numerical grade. We discussed this!
8.
exercise appropriate behavior at all times, respecting fellow students,
the teacher
and
yourself! Basic rules are posted in the
room. This is my one and only warning.
Violations
result in disciplinary action.
Remember:
Ø While Señora is talking – you
are listening. No disruptions from you.
Ø Raise your hand to answer,
and wait to be called upon.
Ø When I call on you- no one
else in the room will be talking or disrupting you.
Ø No one will tease, bully, mock or otherwise be
rude to anyone in our classroom.
All teachers, staff and students will be respected
for their talents and individuality.
The physical classroom and all
materials in it are to be respected as well.
Lack of cooperation results in
loss of participation points ( 5 pts. per day or 25
points each week) I do not
deduct
these points from your grade…but
rather…YOU FAIL TO EARN THEM!!! This can
seriously affect
your
grade!
9.
My grading policy is one of point accumulation. You receive grades for speaking,
listening, quizzes, tests, projects,
notebook, participation, Departmental Proficiency Exam and a Final Exam. It is well balanced and fair, and does include
opportunities for meaningful extra credit.
Cheating and using online translators will not be tolerated. You will
receive zeros. There will be no
make-ups for zeros. There will be unannounced graded
activities or quizzes.
10. Seating is determined by me.
You do not have the option of selecting a seat, unless I direct you.
11. The Dallas High School
Handbook is our guideline. Keep your copy available for referral.
12. All information is subject to change at my
discretion.
***
THE POSSESSION AND USE OF : cell phones, ipods, head
phones, CD players, cameras, or any
other devises of a similar nature are not permitted in my class. They are
disruptive to the classroom environment! If I have to take any such devise away
from you, it will be turned into the Main Office. I will follow up with a
written Disciplinary Referral.
