I teach all of the Family & Consumer Science classes and therefore
teach almost every child in the Dallas Middle School at least once each
year. First quarter I also teach Study Skills to a third of the 6th grade,
Money Matters to a third of the 7th grade, and Career Awareness to a third
of the 8th grade.
This will be my fourteenth year at Dallas Middle School. Before this
assignment I taught at Dallas High School for fourteen years.
I also provide the costumes for the high school drama productions. This will
be my twenty-fourth year as Assistant Drama Coach. I have also costumed
plays for Misericordia University. I enjoy theater and music. I also spend
a lot of time sewing and gardening. During the summer I enjoy getting lost in
a good mystery book. A weakness is chocolate. Dark, of course!
This year is a sewing year at Dallas Middle School. Once every three years
sewing skills are taught to the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students
during their Family & Consumer Sciences classes second, third and fourth
marking periods. The goal is to teach students some important independent
living skills as well as instilling an appreciation for the role sewing plays
in all of our lives.
