Soccer Announcements

2009 Soccer Season Notes

***Practice is cancelled for 8/21 Friday. Next practice will be Monday for all players from 3-5 PM (not 5:30). Players should bring their soccer equipment to school with them on the first day of school. They will change in the locker rooms and then proceed down to the field in a timely manner.***
Note: Later throughout the year some practice times may be extended to 5:30, but Monday's practice will only be until 5 PM

First Practice Date, Time, and Place

August 17th
3:00 - 5:00
Cleary Memorial Field
(Lower Field by Dallas Elementary Playground)

What to Bring to Practice

1. Completed Physical Form (submitted by either of following ways):
****A. Submitted to School Nurse before 8/10/09
****B. Submitted to Coach before first practice
2. Soccer Spikes
3. Soccer Shinguards
4. Drinks
5. Running Sneakers

Training Expectations

All players will be expected to be able to perform the following by the first day of practice

1. 4 laps around the field in 6 minutes
2. Run/Jog 10 laps around the field without stoppin
3. 3 sets of 10 perfect push ups
4. 3 sets of 30 crunches ( sit ups )
5. 3 sets of leg lifts held at 1 minute each

Pre-Season Training

7/28 - 8/2 (train 3 days...rest 3 days)
1. Run 2 laps around the field in 3 minutes.
2. Run/Jog 5 laps around the field without stopping
3. 3 sets of 5 perfect push ups (girls allowed modified push ups)
4. 3 sets of 20 crunches (sit ups)
5. 3 sets of leg lifts held at 30 seconds each

8/3 - 8/9 (train 4 days..rest 3 days)
1. Run 3 laps around the field in 4 minutes & 30 Seconds
2. Run/Jog 7 laps around the field without stopping
3. 3 sets of 7 perfect push ups (girls allowed modified push ups)
4. 3 sets of 25 crunches (sit ups)
5. 3 sets of leg lifts held at 40 seconds each

8/10 - 8/16 (train 4 days..reset 3 days)
1. Run 4 laps around the field in 6 minutes
2. Run/Jog 9 laps around the field without stopping
3. 3 sets of 9 perfect push ups (girls allowed modified push ups)
4. 3 sets of 30 crunches (sit ups)
5. 3 sets of leg lifts held at 50 seconds each
