Some background...

My full name is Kelly Elizabeth Whalen. I am a graduate of Wyoming Valley
West where I played varsity soccer, tennis and basketball. I went on to
Kutztown University where I majored in Elementary Education and played rugby
for four years. While attending Kutztown, I had the opportunity to do my
student teaching in Plymouth, England. After graduation, I spent three years
as a substitute teacher at Dallas and Valley West. In 2002, after finishing
my masters in Reading from Kutztown, I moved to King George, Virginia. There
I taught 6th grade Reading and English for two years. In July of 2004 I moved
back to Kingston and began my work here at Dallas Middle School. I am
currently working on a doctorate in Literacy Education at Widener University

and in the process of writing my dissertation.
