Mrs. Mosier's grade 8 Wellness classes will need to be prepared to swim on
the following days:
Day 1 and 2:
May 14 Day 2 Period 7
May 21 Day 1 Period 7
May 30 Day 1 Period 7

All students need to be prepared to swim on the first day of their scheduled
class.
7th Grade Swimming
Mrs. Mosier
Course Description: Swimming and Water Safety meets 2 out of 6 days for 1
semester. The students will participate in a variety of activities including
stroke development, aquatic fitness, aquatic games, personal safety,rescue
skills and present a Water Safety Project.During this course students will
develop basic water skills and the ability to demonstrate the ability to be
safe in, on and around the water.
Requirements:
The responsibilities for the class are outlined below.
Please note bathing suits must be school appropriate (no string
bikinis). If a bathing suit appears to be inappropriate a T-Shirt
must be worn.
No �cut-offs� are permitted.
NO jewelry, including body piercing
Only sandals/flip flops are permitted (not required) in the pool
area. NO SHOES.
No �temporary/rinse-out� hair dye
Writing utensil.
Exemption from swimming is excused only with a physician�s note.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
Students with a medical excuse will be provided with an alternate
assignment to be turned in for a grade.
Excuses must be written and signed by a parent or guardian or
physician and given to Mrs. Mosier upon arrival to class.
Grading Policy: Students are graded on class participation, assessment on
basic aquatic skills,tests, quizzes and a project. Students can earn a
possible 10 points for each class. Students who are unprepared for class
receive a zero and are provided with a written assignment based on the day�s
class objective.
Final grades are based on: Total earned points divided by total possible
points.

Student Agreement for Dallas Swimming Class
Please read the following information carefully. Sign the bottom
portion of the previous page and write today�s date next to your name.
1. I agree to follow ALL class rules ALL the time.
No running on the pool deck
NEVER go under water without permission
While waiting your turn or listening to instructions ALWAYS keep one
hand on the gutter.
No diving unless regulated by the teacher.
Only enter the pool area when there is a teacher present.
Only enter the water when you have permission.
Shower before class.
NO GUM CHEWING PERMITTED
2. I agree to be prepared for class everyday. Being prepared includes:
Bring a combination lock to use for the period to secure your
belongings. (This includes all valuables)
Bring a bathing suit and a towel
Goggles and swim cap (optional)
Long hair must be tied back
Pencil
NO jewelry is permitted to be worn during swim class.
3. I agree to have appropriate locker room behavior
No running or horseplay
No towel snapping
Get dressed quickly and quietly
Turn off all showers
Line up when ready
. Do not exit through locker room doors, exit through pool area
. Wait for the bell to ring or for Mrs. Mosier to dismiss you.
4. I agree to always try my best at everything I am asked to do.
5. I agree to report an injury/illness to the teacher immediately.
6. I agree to work cooperatively with my classmates.
7. I agree to be courteous, respectful and use manners with my peers
and my teachers.
8. I agree to clean up after myself at the end of each class.
