Persons Personal Pitch Mrs. Persons started the violin at age 8 in the Philadelphia Public School System. She started private lessons at age 10 with Jean Shook at the Kardon- Northeast Branch of the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia. She attended the High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in central Philadelphia and attended West Chester University where she received her B.S. Degree in Music Education. Mrs. Persons likes to listen to the French Impressionist composers - Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, etc. She finds Reverie by Debussy and Ravel's Concerto in G Major for Piano and Orchestra 2nd movement(Adagio assai) best to listen to when relaxing. Mrs. Persons performs in a string quartet called the Shaw Strings www.shawstrings.com ,in the Chester County Pops Orchestra, and in her church orchestra playing double bass. She enjoys teaching children and considers it the best job in the world. No Stringstar Left UnshinedMy goal for the string students of the Avon Grove String Program is to play their best! Each is unique, but all are important. Like the instruments of the orchestra we each contribute something to the music of life. | ||
