****Check the "Up for a Challenge???" page periodically to earn extra credit! MATH: Students will be working in their books as well as their workbooks, so ask them to see their work. They will also be doing daily work in their journals which can help them with their tests and everyday work. Ask your child what they've been doing in class. Check their assignment notebooks and look in their Friday Folders! Daily/Weekly Math Assignments or Activities: Get the Goof/Mental Math...Students will be given problems at the beginning of each class (either review from the previous day or concepts being covered on that day). They will be required to write down each problem in their journal and answer it. At the end of the alloted time, students will be chosen to go to the board and explain how they arrived at their answer. Journal...Each student will be required to keep a journal (one that they are given by me) to write down, Get the Goof, and any notes or vocabulary given in class. At the end of each week, these journals will be collected and graded. If all of the requirements are met and the journal is handed in on time, they will receive a (+) for that week. If not, they will receive a (- ). At the end of the six weeks, they will be given a grade for their journal based on the number of (+)'s they received. This is a very EASY way to get a 100%.
