Throughout the second quarter (Mondays and Tuesdays) we will be focusing on
the Dark and Stormy Night: Unit Two from our textbook. Students will be asked
to read the short stories and answer comprehension questions on the stories.
We will also be working from our PSSA Coachbooks (Wednesdays). During the
remainder of the week, the class will be reading Freak the Mighty, written by
Rodman Philbrick, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, written by Jules Verne
(Thursdays and Fridays). Quizzes and tests on all material will be given
throughout the quarter. Throughout each of the four quarters, the students are
responsible for maintaining their class binder for a test grade at the end of
each quarter.
*** Students are encouraged to hand in completed late work for a grade of a
70. They have up until the end of the current quarter to do so.
